GBS Update

So here is an update on my Growing Belly Syndrome.
As it turns out, I am getting induced on Monday the 20th at 7:30 am. That is is THREE days! Man am I a wreck!
Just so you are assured-there isn't anything wrong with the baby or me. My doctor is just really nice.
I went to my doctor apt this last Tues and I was asked how I was doing. Other than feeling very round- I was hanging in there. I subtly mentioned that I was hoping for action this week because it would be nice to have her at least a week before Halloween.
She proceeds to ask me how old my other child was and I told her he was 8. So she figured that he was hoping for action more of this week than I was.
So she tells me that if I have to come back to my next week's apt (if I didn't go into labor naturally), she would see if she could get me in Labor and Delivery for an induction. But there was no guarantee because it was not medically needed and not to get upset if they have no room for me or if they say no.
So needless to say I was finishing up my apt and gathering my things getting ready to head out to the apt desk to make my apt for next week when she comes back into my room telling me she set me up at L&D for Monday at 7:30 and there is no need to make an apt for next week because I won't be coming back there!!!
SO...
I am set up to have this little girl on Monday the 20th at 7:30.
In a bit a shock still- I'm recklessly trying to make sure the house is organized and ready for our new addition. I feel like i have so much to do still and only three days to get it done!
And then the real work begins...

Blake's School Update

So, not much has improved over the past couple weeks since my last venting on Blake's teacher. I've spoken to another parent who has had her as a teacher for two out of three of her children; her third child is actually in Blake's class currently. I've asked her if the teacher is naturally scatter-brained or if it is just because it is the beginning of the year...apparently. She is naturally scatterbrained. AHHHHH!!!
So next week we have parent teacher conferences and I'm going to make a point to ask/have the teacher let me sit in the class and observe for a day. If I do not like what I see; then I am taking the next step and talking to the principal and having Blake switch classes. I've already spoken to another 3rd grade teacher-just after having ONE conversation with her I already like her SO MUCH BETTER! She has that strict-ness to her which we (Randy and I) feel Blake needs to keep him in line.
Don't get me wrong...Blake is a reasonably decent student and child. We feel he needs the strictness to help him STAY on track. So-we shall see how his parent teacher conference goes next week.

Baby Shower Fun

Just last weekend I had a couple of awesome ladies throw me an awesome shower. There was a good group of us there to celebrate the soon to arrive baby girl Andrus. We played some fun games and I got quite a bit of wonderful items.
It is basically like we are starting all over due to the major gap of age between Blake and this new little one. We really thought Blake was going to be "it"-so bye bye baby stuff. With the surpising news of finding out Blake is no longer going to be an only child-it was time to get baby stuff all over again. Being surrounded by an excellent group of friends near and far, has helped in getting us started with a great bundle of baby items.

We recieveved many things, from diaper bags ...

to onsies ...to bottles ...and room decorations... (yes we went with winnie the pooh for the theme.)
and much more!!!!
Everything was so cute and addorable. In a way makes me eadger to have her just to use all the items. Yet-makes me nervous cause I know her arrival will be right around the corner or sooner than we may expect and there are still odds and ends we don't have yet.

I do have a great deal of support here from many people and I am eternally greatful for everything that everyone has offered to do so much for us. It is making this time in our lives that much more easily transitional-able...(?) That can be a word...right?

(32 weeks 5 days pregnant)

I had another doctors apt on the 9th. So far everything is going the way it should. I have one more two week apt and then I go every week. Anytime after the 23rd-if i go into labor my doctor will not stop the labor process. ((yikes)). News like this makes me even more nervous. Needless to say, I have the baby's bag ready for the hospital and am in the works on getting mine together. Oh the joys of babies!!!!

Time for...Something

Ok, So I'm not as good as I had hoped to be on keeping this thing updated. But you have to understand...I'm a mother-life is never as easy as we make it seem to be.
Lets start off with the top and go down the list.

Randy turned 27 this month. He managed to take some time off from work. Other than that-he has just been hanging out at home with me and the kid (and the animals). Not much than that has been going in his work life---just being a slave like everyone else.

Blake started the third grade about two weeks ago. we kind of got off to a rocky start. We took some time off last week to go out camping and I had sent in a note to the teacher to send home any work that she would like to have him do while we were gone. Well, she didn't send home the work. He ended up going back to school Wednesday and when he came home, still no work. Thursday he comes home from school and has a stack of papers that he was suppose to do during the week. He tells us it is ALL DUE FRIDAY!!!WHAT THE HECK!! There was no way he was going to have enough time to get that work done, AND his regular homework. So I had him do SOME of the papers and sent in a note stating that the work will be turned in Monday. He comes home Friday telling us that his teacher kept him in for lunch because he did not complete his work.

So I go into the school Monday to talk to his teacher to find our exactly why she kept him in. She tells me she kept him in for "study hall" (not detention) because he had not completed his work. So I tell her-he didn't bring home the work until Thursday-he missed half the week AND I sent in a note stating when the work would be in. She proceeds to tell me that she keeps everyone in who has not completed their work so they do not get behind-my question is now-well what did he work on since I had all the papers AT HOME!!!!Granted I didn't get a chance to ask her because the bell was about to ring and she needed to get to the classroom. It is aggravating that I would send in a note ASKING for work-her NOT send it when I ask-but send it home the following Thursday saying it is due Friday and then keeping him IN class (with nothing to work on) because he didn't turn in the work. He should not be punished for something that is not his fault.

PLUS-We had back to school night tonight-the only thing she went over was how to browse around the TUSD (Tucson unified school district) website to see the curriculum...she didn't do ANYTHING else. I'm sorry but what kind of teacher is she??? I really hope it picks up better than what it has started to be.
On to a better subject-Blake tested for his next level in Taekwondo and got two more stripes on his yellow belt!! YAAAAY BLAKE! And cubscouts is also starting up again so we will be getting busy there too!

Now onto me! Yesterday was my 8 month mark!!! Well the beginning of my 8th month. 8 more weeks!!! little scary. Baby shower is a week and 4 days away. Looking forward to that. I do still need to take a recent picture of me-but I don't have one yet. Hopefully in the next couple days I can get one up before it gets toooooo late. I am down to my every two week doctor apt. Everything is going great. Baby is already upside down and doing what she needs to do. We don't have a name yet we are still working on it. The one that we are stuck on is Savannah Lynn. But it isn't sketched in stone yet. Baby's bedroom theme is Winnie the Pooh (thanks to my sister for all the pooh items!) Still need a hamper and some other items but the stuffed animal collection of pooh is complete.

That is the general catch up of us. We did recently go camping and we did recently get a new vehicle. I will post another blog about those in the next few days...hopefully. But for now-this should give you a quick run down of what is going on in our lives. I know it was kind of long-but...that's what happens when don't blog in a few months. Until next time...

Catch-up time

Well it has obviously been a while since my last post. Lets see...what has happened.
Blake tested for his yellow strip in taekwondo and past. He tests this Saturday or his next belt (yellow). This test will be just a little more harder than the last. He has been working his little butt off for it though. ((Good luck Blake!)).

I recently had a sonogram. The doc wanted to make sure that I was not having twins!!! Randy is much obliged that I am in deed NOT having twins. I'm good with one in my belly! I am now just over 4 months (almost 17 weeks). it seems like the time is starting to fly by. I have started to work on the spare room-clearing things out to make room for our family addition. We haven't done too much with it though. We started to talk about names-well actually... we started to make fun of names. Note to self and others-do not name your child Chester...he could be made fun of by being called Chester the molester! But I think we are going to wait to find out what exactly we are having before we ponder any more on names for this new one.

My mothers day was nicely spent at home with my boys and me not doing ANY kind of work. I had breakfast in bed (thanks sweetie!!) and played board games with Blake. Very kick backed sort of day. Randy was trying to be helpful by running a load of dishes in the dishwasher that day. Note to everyone-do not put liquid hand washing dish soap in the dishwasher...IT REALLY DOES OVER FLOW WITH SOAP! ((say tuned for pics soon)). I love you sweetie-its the thought that counts. Although, it is awesome how clean my floor is now! the rest of the day was spent at home and we went out out to Chinese for dinner. Great Wall China. Descent place. Now I just have my birthday to look forward to.

My sister is graduating! (YAAAAY-CAT!)So family is coming from all over to share in the glory. One happy family. It is a shame that it will really go by supper fast though. Busy weekend. It will be nice thought to have just about everyone together again...even for a short amount of time. lots of pictures to take.

Well I think that just about gets me caught up here. I'm shooting a wedding next week. I'm looking forward to that. The bride is awesome and absolutely beautiful. Both of which are a plus.

Oh, another thing. I'm no longer working at the portrait studio. We shall see what the employment world has in store for me-but for right now...I'm home bound.

((buzz...buzzz))there is my cue. My car is ready for me to claim it. thats right. I have been killing time at the Ford Dealership waiting for my car to get its oil changed. The busy life of me. Never a dull moment! Adios!

Aggrivation!!!

So I have been going on walks about every other day to get some exercise. Today was a great day. I walked down to the BX which at first was talking me about 30 minutes to get there. Today it only took 25 minutes! WOO-HOO! So I go in, I walk around and pick up a few things, a couple pairs of shorts, shampoo for Blake and a movie. I take my time while I'm there since its still "MY TIME".
So any who, I'm getting hungry so I go grab a bite to eat and then head home. About 25-30 minutes later I'm home and come in to greet my animals. Pepsi comes running meowing at me. Lexi is no where to be found. I walk around the kitchen and back into the living room where she is now poking her head out of the hallway with her ears down. I'm thinking great...she has done something wrong. but what??? There is not evident sign that she has done something wrong so I call her and she runs off to the bedroom and lays on her bed. I call her out and she eventually comes out. I call her to the living room, still ducking her head she slowly comes out with her tail between her legs. I walk into the kitchen and call her and she slooooowwwly comes into the kitchen.
I get to the pantry and she does not come to me at all. I figure she was getting into the pantry. When I tried to get her to come over to me so I can smack her nose for it...SHE PEEEEEEES!!! OH MY GOSH! She i knock her over with my foot to get her to stop peeing and she runs off to the bedroom again with trails of pee following her! Holy crap! Now not only do I feel the need to beat her but now I have to clean up this pee trailing around my house! AAARRGH. Not the way i wanted to end my wonderful walk...cleaning dog pee. **sigh**

Tucson Botanical Garden

Today I went with my son's cubscout group to check out the botanical garden here in Tucson. Its a requirement for them to get their world conservation badge. Any who. We were lucky enough to catch the last weekend of the butterfly exhibit. There were so many butterflies flying around it was awesome! Being the photographer I am had to take all sorts of pictures. Many of which you can find for sale at either my etsy site or my photography website. See links to either above.

A butterfly landed on Blake and then me, it was awesome! We had a great time. Blake was fascinated with all the butterflies flying around us. Later we got to see centipedes and millipedes. There were so many different kinds of plants, many of which I had never heard of. There was a gum mint plant that actually smelled like gum. We were through with it in about 2 hours which was fine by me cause my belly was telling me it was either time to eat...or time to vomit. I chose eat-subway is nummy when you don't like greasy food any more. Speaking of food...its time for a lemon head. =/

The Begining

So here it is; the first blog. The beginning of spending even more time on this thing called a computer and Internet. As if I'm not on here enough, my loving sister insisted on me having a "blog spot" as well. What...myspace isn't enough??? Apparently not. But that's ok. The more I blog, the more practice I get with my "typing skills".
So much going on here, so little time.
First and foremost, I'm a mother of a wonderful 8 year old that everyone feels they need to keep for themselves. He is a cutie and he knows it. He is active in cub scouts and has recently began taekwondo. He's a natural. Which I'll blog about those later.

Secondly, I'm a wife. Not just any wife, an Air Force wife. Which means I need to be able to let my husband fly a million miles overseas away from me and our son for an uncertain amount of time at the drop of a hat. Its not the typical lifestyle but we make do. People like to think we in the military have a certain life style where we "have it made"-get over yourselves...we don't. Our housing community is the first , but not last complaint I'll be blogging about...again at a later time.

Thirdly, I have two more children, of which have fur all over their bodies and have four legs. There is Pepsi our Cat, and Lexi the dog. Lexi was sooooo much cuter when she was a puppy. now...she can be a pain in my arse.

Some where in the midst of it all I try to do this thing called a photographer. I shoot nature, families, WEDDINGS, engagements, parties. All sorts of things. No event is to small for me to photograph.

Lastly and most certainly not least. I am expecting...the latest edition to our family. S/He is due to join our crazy family sometime in October. Little does my sister know, the one who lives here in Tucson, ((by the way Cat...)) she gets to spend the 10-13 hours of labor at 3 in the morning with Blake while Randy is with me in the delivery room!!! HAHAH.

So that's a sum of my life currently. Nothing to extraordinary-just a typical life of pets, family, and a career. What a life....
